Charter of the DIAMAID Foundation

Mission

The mission of the Foundation is to participate in the healthy development of diamond-rich countries through the funding of educational and medical projects for the populations most in need. The vision of the Foundation is a world in which the production and distribution of diamonds is associated with positive benefits for all of the actors and populations involved.
DIAMAID’s mission is to fund construction projects of schools and medical care centers. It is particularly concerned with spreading knowledge of its values among all the actors of the diamond sector, from mining to consumption points, and enrolling them in its ethical mission. Thus, the ethical and economic contribution of each actor will permit the birth of what we can call the “Solidarity Diamonds.”

Values

The three primary values of the Foundation are: transparency, independence and solidarity. These three values guarantee its commitment to high ethics in the diamond industry, its liberty of action, both in terms of the choice of projects and funding, and its collaborative spirit in developing strong partnerships with local and international organizations and governments and communities in diamond-rich countries.

Activities

DIAMAID is concerned with identifying the priorities of people in producing countries, in collaboration with local and international organizations engaged in the region.. In fact, it is from this precise compendium of needs that projects will be defined and carried out in close cooperation with the local and international actors.

Organization

DIAMAID has an international mission due to the global dimension of its activities and its partners. It is open to all moral persons who adhere to its principles and contribute to the quality of its activities. Alongside its contributing members, the Foundation is endowed with an ethical and technical committee composed of known experts and personalities, to ensure the respect of its charter.
